That first mixed media class with Christy Riopel launched a new understanding of the healing power of ART plus a beautiful new friendship!!
I was already actively involved in the ART industry doing TV segments, writing for multiple magazines and even hosting crafting cruises and now I had a soul sister to partner with!
Together through classes, events and retreats, we invited others to slow down to create and find rest for their souls through art.
Then, on August 21, 2016, everything changed.

MY STORY CONTINUED...

Christy died suddenly, and my heart was decimated.
I lost more than a friend—I lost my soul sister, my creative partner, my biggest cheerleader.
But in that broken place of loss, God met me. He reminded me that He can be trusted with it ALL.
And once again, art helped me heal... I started with this tribute to Christy using hymn paper she had recently gifted me as the base.
The journey without Christy at my side has been hard, but I know she would want me to continue what we started...
So I invite you to join me... my hope and prayer is that you will also discover rest for your soul through art and find a soul sister or two along the way.

And by the way... no, you don't need to share my faith to participate in any of my ART with Allison projects.
I truly believe we need to learn to walk arm in arm even if we don't see eye to eye so ALL are welcome in this space.
Yes, I teach from my personal faith in God and Jesus and include Bible verses in many projects, but I accept where everyone is at on their spiritual journey and create a safe space to explore.
I actually design my projects help you learn and discern what you believe. I welcome questions and desire to help you find answers that bring rest for your soul.
